Palliative Medical Specialists

The department consists of two consultants, a principal registrar, a registrar and an intern.

The senior specialists are involved in all our palliative care services. In addition, they are available to give advice to General Practitioners on symptom management. This can be done either by telephone, outpatient consultation linked to day centre or home visits if requested by either the local medical practitioner or the Community Palliative Care team.

The current Clinical Director of Palliative Care is the Chair of Palliative Care Victoria and has maintained close links with local Divisions to ensure effective communication between services and assist with ongoing education.

Our specialists are willing to participate in education sessions or small workshops, either at GP’s surgeries or at organised Divisional events and can be contacted either by phone or email.
