Inpatient services

Calvary Health Care Bethlehem’s 70-bed inpatient facility provides two 20-bed palliative care wards and one 30-bed progressive neurology ward. Patients are admitted for the following types of care and support:

• Pain and Symptom Management
  Patients with a chronic medical condition may at times have difficulty managing their symptoms. We can assess and implement a strategy to better control the symptoms of a condition, including a discharge management plan for ongoing support as required.
• Restorative Care
  We offer a low intensity rehabilitation program which focuses on optimising the patient’s wellbeing. An interdisciplinary approach involving a defined management and discharge plan is implemented with the patient’s needs central to the treatment plan.
• Respite Care
  We offer respite care to family and carers who are providing the primary care for a patient. Respite carers are employed and trained by us and can provide company, meaningful activity, and support.
• End-of-Life Care
  We have expertise in caring for the dying and their loved ones. We offer a range of services to ensure the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of patients with advanced illness are met effectively and enable them to live and die in the place of their choice, if possible.
